heading west

11.03.2013

Welp, it's happening! We are moving back to the U.S. of A on December 2nd, which is just about a month away. It has been a decision full of faith, excitement, a whole lot of prayer, and vision. And, man, are we stoked!

We're in the thick of processing what it means to leave our family (physical & spiritual) and a country that has been "home" to us for over three years. Who we are leaving is quite different from who we were when we arrived. In the course of three years, Mark and I went from a dating relationship to engagement to marriage. We learned what faith meant and what a life lived by it looked like. We experienced the excitement of starting a business and launching a creative project in a thriving, vibrant community of creatives & visionaries. We learned how to pray and how to cry and how to get back up again when life beats us up. We learned a lot and we grew a lot. And I'd be lying to you if I didn't admit how hard it is to say au revoir

With that, however, are exciting plans up ahead, particularly for re.write magazine. We'll be spending a couple months in California (our home state) for the holidays as well as for stories. Almost as soon as we arrive, we'll be driving to Seattle, Portland, Redding, and San Francisco to find stories for re.write magazine. Then, we'll be moving to New York to continue growing re.write full-time. Our vision for it is big, and our faith for it is even bigger. So you go big or you go home, right?

It has been awhile since we've posted on this blog, and most of it had to do with these last couple of months being dedicated to preparing, planning, and prepping for our move to the States. Since September, Mark and I have moved apartments, sold a ton of furniture, raised a substantial amount of start-up funds for re.write magazine, worked a ton to save up, transitioned out of some jobs, and designed an annual print edition for the magazine (more on that later)! It has been crazy, but crazy good.

Thank you for being a part of our adventure here in Korea! Here's to more adventures in new places!
