So it's Tuesday here, which would mean I missed my opportunity for a "Mr. & Mrs. Monday" post. But technically, it's still Monday in the States, so let's just pretend I didn't totally fail at this series before it even began :)
Mark & I started dating in 2006, when I was a mere 17-year-old. We've been through our fair share of ups and downs, and you'd think that after being in each others' lives for 6 1/2 years, we'd know anything and everything about each other. That is totally not the case.
It's as if saying "I do" opened another set of eyelids I didn't know I had until now. For example, when he eats penne pasta, he doesn't pierce his fork into the pasta to eat. Instead, he places the tubes onto each tooth of the fork. I've tried it, and it actually makes eating pasta more fun. You should try it.
He also takes off his socks with his feet, not his hands. And he rinses his mouth after brushing his teeth by directly drinking from the faucet. And he breaks into spontaneous singing or rapping at any given moment of the day. And he sometimes laughs in his sleep. And he gets a kick out of having conversations with me when I'm half asleep and saying things that don't make sense, like, "I have garlic coming out of my ears" or "The crows are going to poop on us."
And I bet he didn't know before we got married that if my feet are hot, I can't sleep. Or that I say weird, incoherent things in my sleep. Or that I always leave the last quarter of my coffee untouched because it's cold by the time I get to it. Or that I am extremely particular about the pens that I use. Or that I look like a puberty-stricken 7th grader when I put my retainer and glasses on before bed.
But all these quirks make marriage so much fun and always a new experience, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
