The first week back

4.24.2012

Before I returned home, I imagined that I'd hit the ground running as soon as I landed. My body and mind, on the other hand, had different plans. It took at least 3 days for my body to adjust to the jetlag. Anytime I had tried to think about the wedding, my mind would draw a blank. After getting frustrated by my mushy brain, I decided to surrender and just rest for a few days. I have to keep reminding myself I've only been home for a week :)

With just over a month left, we still have a lot to do, but every time I can cross something off the list, it feels sooo good. In just the last week, we've figured out the centerpiece/altar design, got a hair trial, started the dress altering process, purchased the flower girl's dress, got an idea of what kind of flowers we'll have,  decorated the favors, and so much more! At this rate, the wedding will be totally planned in a couple of weeks...maybe that's a little too ambitious ;)

I haven't carried my camera around, but of course, I have my trusty iPhone to capture the moments along the way!

Catch-up

4.17.2012

I've failed at updating my blog regularly for the last 3 months. But I didn't fail to capture some of the cool moments on film (hooray for me!).

Here's a video to prove it :)

[Watch it in HD here.]

From here on out (at least until June 2nd), most, if not all, of my posts will be wedding-related (per request of Melody). I just flew back to California yesterday and I can't wait to get started. I'm just waiting for my brain to revert back to itself after being in a state of mush for the last 36 hours. A lack of sleep + jet lag + an overwhelming list of things to do + just wanting to hang out and be on vacation mode = a state of mush.

Until next time...

Goodbye

4.06.2012

This is kind of comical considering it happened over a month ago, but I just can't not post about it. On February 27th, my best bud, Jamie, returned to the U.S. After a year and a half in Korea together, I wasn't sure how the "goodbye" would go. Fortunately, I knew I'd see her soon after, so it wasn't too bad...just a few tears and this face:

The weekend before, our closest friends gathered at one of our favorite makgeolli restaurants to send Jamie off right. It was just perfect. Lots of conversation, joy & laughter.
